20 Alkaline Diet Recipes to Boost Energy And Lose Weight



The latest buzz is all about the benefits of alkalizing the body. The reasoning behind it is simple. Our bodies are mostly water, and function best when they are slightly alkaline.

Some studies suggest that all kinds of health problems, such as arthritis and sleeplessness can be attributed to high acidity. Alkalizing can help prevent premature aging and improve energy levels.

Of course, there are plenty of people out there who want to sell expensive supplements or special bottled water. But alkalizing can be done through diet. Meat, coffee, alcohol and processed foods all contributed to high levels of acidity. Reduce these foods, and you’ve already taken one step toward realizing the benefits of alkalizing your system. Add vegetables, like avocados or broccoli, and you’ll help yourself even more

To help you get started, here’s a recipe to try:

Alkaline Potato Salad

Ingredients for 4 servings

600g new or red potatoes
2 cups of broccoli
1 cup of cauliflower
½ small english cucumber
1 small green or red pepper
1 red onion
2 tbsp. dill
Juice of 1 lemon
3 tbsp. cold pressed olive oil
1 tbsp. vegenaise
Sea salt


Steam potatoes until slightly soft.

Meanwhile steam broccoli and cauliflower for a couple of minutes (should be still crunchy, not soft).

After the potatoes cool, slice them (with the skin) and put them in a big bowl.

Add the chopped broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber, pepper, the finely chopped onion, the dill and salt, and mix well. Set aside.

Put lemon juice, olive oil and the vegenaise in a small bowl and mix until you have a smooth dressing.

Add to potato salad, toss gently, and put aside for a couple of hours. Then the salad will even taste better.

Add some more seasoning if desired.
